My list is based on multiplayer games that I've spent countless hours playing (Goldeneye, Smash Bros + HL mods such as CS & TF games) and single player games that I've completed so many times I've lost count.
These are all games that I will never tire of playing
* this will probably be replaced by Smash Bros Brawl when it's finally released

I'm just going to put the iteration of the series that I fell in love with in each case, this means HL2 loses out to HL itself but you get the picture;
Half Life Baldur's Gate 2 Civilisation (tied between the original and Civ2 which was a good improvement) SimCity 2 Close Combat II A Bridge too far Super MarioKart Legend of Zelda (Snes, can't remember if thats the proper name) Dan Dare (back on the Speccy!) Chaos (Also on the Speccy!) Sensible World of Soccer (can't remember the exact year that was perfect... could be 94/95, but in any case, before the recent horrible revisions) Championship Manager 99/00 Pro Evolution Soccer 3 (though all good) Gran Turismo 2 on the PS2 - , 2+ hour endurance races completed in the small hours! Goldeneye (played badly while drunk or high at a friends house, but legendary game)
All these games have occupied a significant and possibly damaging portion of time from my youth that I can never get back.... but I don't regret it!
Recent great games that have had me rushing home from work to play;
CSS (of course) Bioshock World of Warcraft (the grinding did eventually get me off it but for a while I was a complete addict)

Two arcade games there but i consider them in my top 10 as I spent many a school day in the local arcade playing both those games to death and I've added TFC doh! how could i forget that.
1 Civilisation 1,2,3,4(from amiga 500 - till now) 2 Football manager (it'll always be called Champ Man in my world ) 3 Frontier Elite ( have a working copy playable on my pc) 4 X-wing, (tried to complete it without dying, still havnt achieved that so still occasionally play it) 5 Goldeneye (spent way two many hours playing this with the donkey kong and paintball options on) 6 Rome Total War (the best of an excellent series) 7 Grand Theft Auto Vice City (the only one that i played till the end) 8 Rock 'n Roll Racing (a snes classic) 9 Dungeon And Dragons; land of the eternal sunshine (me and my dad completed this together, a megadrive rpg game) 10 Dwarf Fortress (the hardest but most gratifying game i have ever played, its still in development, but check it out)
god there many more; The Movies, Half Life, Waterloo: napoleons last battle, Buck Rogers, Syndicate, Cannon Fodder, ill probly think of something ive over looked

11 Sensible World of Soccer (Jean-Piere Papin from Paris St Germain the best sprite i ever knew, no thats a lie Jools and Jops were the best sprites i ever knew, Jean-Piere papin the 3rd best sprite i ever knew)
1. Dizzy games - amazing the fun you can have carrying around a snorkle, a rock and a weed. 2. COD 4 - my new love! (stay off the 50+ man servers to avoid the nade and air strike spam) 3. CSS - wouldnt have met you guys without it, but your all still bawbags 4. TF2 - the early days before valve ruined it. 5. R-Type -many 20p's wasted at the local arcades 6. Double Dragon - the first one only the rest are poo 7. Final fantasy series - VII is the best by a mile but enjoy them all. 8. Horris goes ski-ing - prob the first speccy game i ever played. 9. resident evil 1 - set the tone for the horror genre in my eyes 10. secret of mana - awesome rpg

Nades that is an awesome shout! Those games were so bloody frustraing trying to stop that damn egg rolling off into a nearby pond. Really funny though. Think Fantasyland and Prince of the Yolk Folk were my favourites. Poor old Denzil turned into a hedge..........

Tekken 3 - hours of fun learning to do the 10 hit combo's Wipeout - great racing game with a kicking sound track, I even took the playstation disk into my car to play the tunes!

Never really been a console fan. For me it's PC. I think the best games for me, which stand out, are:
Farcry: For the time just amazing compared to others. Crysis: Amazing gaming environment, the way forward if done better. (Both let down by the multiplayer)
